Cellular Cofferdams and Docks
A theory is presented for the design against failure by tilting of cellular cofferdams. This theory is substantiated by model tests and gives results that are consistent with those obtained in the field. Several previously published theories are examined and important inconsistencies are noted. The proposed theory is then used to investigate the design of a cofferdam on rock and a dock in sand.
