Development of a Response Plan and Grout System For Remediation of Sinkholes
Hillsborough County, Florida, USA lies in Central Florida, in an area underlain by soft limestone that is subject to sinkhole formation. Typically, several sinkholes will occur in County roads each year. In order to assure rapid response, the County developed a team approach with its representative, the geotechnical engineer and the grouting contractor. Because there is a team approach, not only is the response for remediation very fast, but it also allows the County, the engineer and the contractor the opportunity to develop innovative methods for the work.
