Saltwater Intrusion in the United States
The occurrence of saline water is described in terms of geologic and hydrologic conditions. The three general mechanisms of intrusion are considered. The extent of salt water intrusion is given using a detailed listing of examples from throughout the United States. Statements are included regarding some of the areas where major control efforts are underway.
