Scour Modeling of Black Bear Creek Bridge on Cimarron Turnpike, Oklahoma
This paper presents the scour modeling for a midsize watershed on Black Bear Creek Bridge located on Cimarron River in Oklahoma. The modeling process contains two parts-hydraulic modeling and scour modeling. This investigation shows the use of HEC-RAS, a one-dimensional program, in analyzing the hydraulic conditions in terms of water surface elevations for 100- and 500-year floods. The water surface elevation are used to predict flow velocities at the piers and abutments of the bridge. The flow velocities are then used to predict the scour depths at various piers and apartments. Scour profiles for 100- and 500-year floods are presented in this study.
