A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
This paper describes the Fox Point hurricane barrier; the major design problems including the establishing of hurricane tide levels and wave forces, the provisions for passage of estuary flow under normal conditions and at flood periods, the protection of a steam power plant from damaging effects during construction and subsequent thereto, and the provisions necessitated by poor foundation conditions.
