While it is not proposed to offer anything of a theoretical character in this paper, it has occurred to the writer that probably in au experience of over ten years in designing and superintending the construction of between 400 ancl 500 highway bridges of all sizes, from 2 feet to 275 feet span, costing in all about $750,000, and of all characters, there would be probably many points obtainecl by his experience of advantage to the profession at large and to those interested in these structures in particular.
