Lateral Buckling of Cantilevered I-Beams under Uniform Load
The differential equation and boundary conditions are derived which de scribe the lateral buckling of a cantilevered I-beam subjected to a uniform load. The resulting boundary-value problem, intractable by purely analytic al methods, is solved numerically with the aid of a card-programmed calculator and the results are presented.
