Effect of Inner Resonators on Acoustics of Rigid Porous Media
This paper deals with the acoustics of gas-saturated, rigid, porous medium consisting in damped Helmholtz resonators embedded in a porous matrix. The macroscopic description of this system is established through homogenization method. It is shown that the resonators brought a negative contribution in the effective stiffness of the gas. The atypical features of acoustic wave propagation are determined and the occurrence of a broad band gap and strongly dispersedwaves is discussed according to the characteristics of the porous matrix and of the resonators.
