Spacing of Interchanges on Freeways in Urban Areas
Location and spacing of interchanges on freeways has a pronounced effect on the transportation system of a city. Widely spaced interchanges do not provide the needed service; on the other hand, too many interchanges result in loss of speed and capacity. Bases for spacing of interchanges, including schemes for increasing operational efficiency, are presented.
