Investigation into Circle Shear Test Method of Asphalt Mixture
In order to study the shear properties of asphalt mixture, a new test method, circle shear test method, is put forward in this paper. According to the finite element analysis, the cone-shaped failure plane obtained from this test is the maximum shear stress plane. And the parameters of circle shear test are brought forward, with which shear strength of asphalt mixture can be efficiently evaluated. Combined with the unconfined compression test method, several formulas are established to calculate the cohesion and the internal friction angle of asphalt mixture. Finally, the shear fatigue life of asphalt mixture under different stress ratios at a frequency of 10Hz is obtained by the circle shear fatigue test method.
