Research on Housing Satisfaction of Urban Residents from the Perspective of Household Characteristics
Residents’ satisfaction with their housing is a major event that affects the happiness of the people. This paper investigates the housing situation of Harbin residents based on the characteristics of households, and uses the ordered probit model to empirically test the main factors affecting residents’ satisfaction. The results show that neighbourliness, community hardware facilities, disturbance, and activities of community organizations have a significant impact on residents’ housing satisfaction. Family demographic factors, family housing quality factors, and family housing surrounding supporting factors have no significant impact on residents’ housing satisfaction. The government should promulgate policies to solve the problem of disturbing the people. The community should also strengthen the maintenance of neighborhood relations and the construction of hardware facilities, and to organize more activities to meet the daily needs of residents, so as to achieve the goal of building a harmonious socialist community.
