A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Education of Civil Engineers: A Symposium: Training for Civil Engineering
The presenttrend of engineering education is toward more technical courses in the basic sciences narrowly pointed toward careers in research and development in the manufacturing industries. Because most civil engineering graduates still go to field or office positions closely associated with the construction industry, increased attention to basic sciences at the expense of engineering courses is inappropriate for undergraduates. Present curricula, kept up to date in course content, are still most appropriate for the training of prospective civil engineers.
