The comprehensive disciplines of architecture and urban planning are imposing higher requirements on students. The learning methods also have their own characteristics. Three Gorges University's urban construction department has been taken as an example in the article. It has given rudimentary education on learning methods based on the analysis of student backgrounds, to help them understand the characteristics of the majors as soon as possible and master the proper learning methods, which will lay a solid foundation for their further study.
