Tilt
Tilt is a steel and glass framed mechanism located on the 94th floor Observatory of the John Hancock Center in Chicago, IL. This unique “Patent Pending” structure consists of a movable platform that rotates about a horizontal axis to tip or “tilt” guests beyond the exterior face of the building for a thrilling view of the city below. Installing a moving system in this iconic landmark structure posed several challenges during the design and construction phases.
