Surface Energy and Hydrophilicity of Limestone Aggregate
Based on the thermodynamic theories and current experiment method of solid surface energy, surface energy of limestone aggregate in millimeter scale is determined by SGA -100 water vapor sorption analyzer. The major variation exhibited by limestone aggregates are Lewis base component, which is several times to that of mineral particles. Large sizes of the constituent particles forming millimeter size aggregates induce large surface energy. It is also shown that hydrophilicity of limestone aggregates vary severely, which means variety interfacial interaction between different particles.
