Sustainable Luxury: Case Study of Two LEED Platinum Hotels
Sustainable practices are beginning to be adopted in the hotel industry, saving energy, water, and resources and thus helping to preserve the environment. However, there is inevitably some conflict between sustainable practices and hotel guests' satisfaction and comfort as the conservation of resources could detract from the quality of a guest's experience. Here we present a case study of two LEED platinum hotels, identifying and analyzing sustainable practices that balance the twin goals of sustainability and luxurious environment while at the same time enhancing the hotels' financial strength.
