The flow profile in a gridiron drainage main tile where lateral inflows enter at constant intervals is studied in detail. Theoretical equations are derived for computing flow profiles. Experimental observations are made to check the theoretical computation. Twenty four flow profiles under various field conditions, including pipe diameter, slope and lateral inflows, are presented for the development of economical design.
