Statistical Methods Applied to Pavement Construction Quality Assurance
The existing pavement quality control (QC) leaves much to be desired, resulting from irregular zoning, an outdated indicator system, etc. The quality of pavement construction is different from other projects, and is easily affected by dozens of factors in addition to large variability in construction. How to effectively reduce construction variability and improve the overall pavement construction quality is one of hot button issues needing to be addressed by relevant QC authorities on pavement projects. By examining the existing QC methods of pavement projects, this paper puts the technology of quality process control into the practice of pavement projects, fulfilling the supervision on pavement QC and improving the stability of the construction. These research findings may turn out to be the theoretical foundation upon which a more scientific QC system on pavement projects can be established.
