A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The tremendous potential of the construction industry is outlined against a rising trend of failures. These failures are analyzed by type of contractor, the amount of liabilities, and by geographic regions. The underlying cause of more than 85% of the construction failures in recent years is traced to poor management practices. To help reverse the present failure trend in the construction industry, contractors are encouraged to evaluate the use of technical and on the job training courses, to develop and use key index ratios, and to keep close tab on the bidding and cost control procedures.
