Energy Loss Analysis for Open Channel Expansions
A previously developed submerged flow analysis for open channel constructions has been modified to allow the analysis of energy loss on open channel expansions. The modified technique has been compared with previous methods of analysis using existing data, along with data collected in the laboratory in open channel expansions with vertical walls and triangular-shaped baffles. These comparisons point out the limitations of existing methods of energy loss analysis.
