Shear Behavior between Jacked Concrete Pile and Silty Clay
The shear behavior between soil and solid surface is of importance for foundation structures such as pile, suction caisson, retaining wall, and anchors. In this study, the interface behavior between concrete plate and silty clay were investigated. The interface friction angle of interface was calculated through analyzing test results. In addition, the set-up effect of shear stress between concrete plate and silty clay was also discussed. All tests were performed in a modified direct shear device under different vertical normal stresses. Test results indicated that the friction resistance between concrete plate and silty clay is closely related to normal stresses and consolidation time.
