A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Vibrations that occur because of the forces of nature and those induced by moving or rotating equipment may cause a reduction in efficiency, objectionable noise, excessive wear, .and fatigue failures, and may result in a loss of property or revenue. The vibration sources and design criteria used by the Bureau of Reclamation, United States Department of the Interior, in the structural design of hydroelectric power plants are cited.
