Unveiling Value Creation in Megaprojects from the Perspective of Stakeholder Value Network
Value in megaprojects is influenced by the complex morass of stakeholders involved who shaping complex networks that are central to collaborative project-based value creation. Although interest in the value creation of the megaproject is mounting, little is known about how stakeholders engage with the megaproject delivery process and realize value creation. To unveil this intricate process, this study presented a novel approach extended from stakeholder value network (SVN) to conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis value creation among stakeholders in megaprojects. Built upon 99 value flows among 10 stakeholder types during the project construction stage, a qualitative megaproject SVN (MSVN) model was first constructed. The questionnaire survey was then used to quantify the MSVN model. Critical value cycles were identified for value creation, which provides effective suggestions for megaproject value management practices. This research contributes to understand the value creation of complex stakeholder networks that strengthen value enhancement in megaprojects.
