Lithuanian regional economic and social development. Bachelor thesis analyzes the social and economic problems existing in Lithuanian regions. The aim of the thesis is to analyze problems existing in regions of Lithuania and evaluate economical benefits provided by regional politics of Republic of Lithuania. The main object is regional politics of the Republic of Lithuania. The major goals are: to analyze development policy of regions of Lithuania and institutional system of politics implementation; to investigate regional economical and social disparities, to carry out a comparative analysis; to identify the key factors determining differences in Lithuanian regions. The investigation was based on comparative and systematic analysis of scientific literature, press publications, digital information and statistical data. In order to solve social and economical problems in the regions there was regional policy of the Republic of Lithuania invoked causing impact on carrying wider analysis of regional politics’ aims, goals and principles. There are also sources of regional politics funding and funded theories being analyzed. There is activity related to regional development politics of three national institutions presented briefly: the Lithuanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Regional Development Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Lithuanian Labour Exchange. The following analyzes indicates the social district’s indicators such as - employment, youth unemployment and the number of beneficiaries - indicators and economic indicators - GDP per person, FDI and comparative analysis of disposable income per household. According to the analysis it is carried out that after the entry to the European Union and the launch of the regional development program, Lithuania's economy began to grow rapidly. Reduction of the unemployment rate became lower, GDP increased. Lithuania has attracted more FDI, which led to faster development of the country.
