High-rise building modelling: Numerical and analytical approaches
In this paper the authors analyze the response of a building of great height subjected to wind load. In addition to the classic finite element modeling, the authors propose a modeling based on a differential formulation. The differential equations of the vertical elements are coupled together considering the presence of the :floor slabs. For the building taken as an example, we obtain a system of three differential equations that can be solved by MATLAB. This paper presents the idea and hypothesis of diffusion of the stiffness necessary to arrive at a differential formulation of the problem. The proposed results consider only the axial contribution of the :floor stiffness, but in the same way :flexural stiffness can be introduced.
