Subject: Adjustments In Project Manager’s Competences Within The Context of changing Project Management Methodologies Author: Paulius Čiupaila Relevance: Today it is important for project managers to understand the principles of innovative project management methods and the challenges of new competences; therefore this topic is especially relevant to project managers who are seeking to be competitive in their field and to enable modern competencies at work. Problem: What changes in competencies are needed for project managers, moving from traditional project management to modern project management methodologies? What core competencies are needed in managing projects by innovative methods? Aim and objectives: to evaluate project managers' competences changes in the transition from traditional to modern project management methodologies in the context of organizations operating in Lithuania. Objectives: analysis of scientific literature of traditional and Agile project management methods, project management competencies; to develop research methodology; to study project management competencies in the context of the methodologies transformation; present observations and recommendations on key innovative project management competences in Lithuania. Methods: scientific literature analysis, quantitative research - multi-criteria expert survey. Main findings and conclusions: project management - application of knowledge, skills, tools and methods for project activities to meet project requirements. Project management is carried out by using project management processes: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, closure. The basis of the Agile project management concept is the identification of the project phases and the breakdown into short-term periods, there the priorities are set. The Agile methodology applies process iterations and identifies new aims for the higher performance. Empirical research method - quantitative method, expert survey, scaled according to criteria. The main five key project management competencies in the context of project management methodology transformation are: the formation of teamwork; quick planning; negotiation skills; reliability; time and cost management. Through research, recommendations for project managers, staff selection specialists, new research directions have been identified scientifically. in the context of project management methodology transformation. Thesis structure: introduction, three main parts of the work: literature review, research methodology and organization, analysis a of the research results, discussion, conclusions and recommendations, list of literature, appendices. Thesis consists of -69 pages; there are 8 tables and 10 pictures. Bibliographic description consists of 91 sources. At the end of the work there is an appendix supplementing the research data.
