Risk management in construction project
Construction projects are characterized by the complexity resulting from the nature of these projects, as these projects are characterized by privacy and are implemented within a changing environment in terms of economic and political aspects, as well as greatly affected by weather factors, and the implementation of these projects takes a long period of time, and thus these projects are exposed to many risks that cause the failure of many Construction projects from delivering them on deadlines and achieving their goals in terms of quality and cost the project owner is the party that pays the main bill for the project, so it is necessary that the project be implemented according to its needs. For this reason, a scientific methodology must be developed to deal with obstacles and challenges (risks) that impede the achievement of the project objectives. The aim of this study is to identify the main risks and their effects on construction projects and allocate these risks to the party most able to deal with them. through our research, the most important risks in construction projects were identified, based on the reference study and a number of interviews with experts in the construction industry and with parties such as the project owner. A total of 76 questionnaires were returned from the respondents, and thus the total response rate was 83.5%. Hence, 4 of the returned questionnaires were not completed due to these eliminating questions. As a result, a total of 72 questionnaires were satisfactorily completed and recognized as valid in accordance with quantitative analysis. The data was analysed in a program (IBM SPSS Statistics 23) the risks were divided into six categories (Funding and project budget, Security situation risks analyses, Logistical factors risk, Administration Risk, Legal Risk, Environment Risk) including and it was concluded that the most important one affecting the objectives of the project is financing, and the least one is the environment.
