Powers Hotel, Powers Building

State Street and West (later West Main) Street extending into the distance. Designed by local architect Andrew J. Warner, construction began in 1865 and various additions were made until it reached its present form in 1890. It was one of the first commercial fireproof buildings in the U.S.
