Vestibulär evozierte myogene Potentiale (VEMP) im Vergleich von Klick-Reizen und Burst-Reizen ; Comparison of click-evoked and tone burst-evoked vesibularly evoked myogenic potentials
Die Methode der vestibulär evozierten myogenen Potentiale (VEMP) gestattet eine selektive Beurteilung der Sacculusfunktion einer Seite. Üblicherweise werden Klick-Reize zur Stimulation verwandt, seltener auch Burst-Reize. In dieser prospektiven Studie hat man beide Stimmulationsarten an einer Kontrollgruppe von 25 Gesunden und 100 Patienten verglichen. Bei fast allen Kontrollen und bei 2/3 der Patienten zeigen die VEMP bei Klick- und bei Burst-Reizen Übereinstimmung. Die Ablesbarkeit der Potential-Antworten ergibt keine Überlegenheit einer Methode. Unterschiede bei einzelnen Krankheitsbildern bestehen nicht. ; The method of vestibularly evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) allows a selective assessment of the function of the sacculus on each side. In spite of the fact that normally clicks are employed for the loud sound stimulation, bursts can be used, too. In this prospective study, both ways of stimulation were compared in a control group of 25 healthy individuals and in a collective of 100 patients. In nearly all persons of the control group and in two thirds of the patients, the VEMP yield the same results in both ways of stimulation. The responses do neither implicate a superiority of one of the two methods, nor do they give hints at the different diseases of the vestibular system.
