Penggunaan Ruang Berbasis Kearifan Lokal di Permukiman Pesisir Sulaa Baubau
The settlement is concentrated in coastal areas between hills and the Kadatua strait with sea waves that are quite high in certain seasons. Such condition causes spatial problems and abrasion that occurs every year which have impact on the shape and order of settlement space. Reclamation carried out by the Local government it indicates a new dynamic for the community has implications for the social, economic and cultural growth of the Sulaa community. This paper aims to show some concepts of the use of space in the Sulaa Settlement based on local wisdom. This research uses Phenomonology paradigm and inductive analysis methods. The main instrument is the researcher ownself with the hypothesis that a researcher can see the object in its context, observes directly and improves the awarness continuously. The results of the study show that the concept of space use is based on the local wisdom of the people of Buton those living on the Sulaa coast are found in the use of space in homes and the environment around residential houses and in public spaces for the social, economic and cultural activities of the people. This shows the uniqueness of the patterns of behavior of the community in the creation and use of settlement space. Keywords: use of space, local wisdom, Sulaa
