Within the framework of the State's efforts to achieve urban development at various planning levels and in all sectors, including housing and transport, a number of challenges and obstacles have emerged. Recently, it does not take into account the pivotal relationship between both activities and human requirements with the types of land cover, but can be traced and studied the impact between them through the use of environmental footprint as one of the tools of environmental assessment aimed at assessing Urban development to reduce the gap between human activities and biological capacity.The research seeks within the framework of global developments to achieve comprehensive sustainability to environmental assessment of Egyptian urban communities from the perspective of environmental footprint applied to the housing and transport sectors.The research focuses on the tools and methodologies for assessing the environmental footprint in the developmental sectors for ease of implementation on the Egyptian urban communities
