The Greeneries is a historic park in the centre of the Old City of Krakow connected with demolition of fortifications at the beginning of the 19th century. This park has a fascinating history. Now after the renovation works the remnants of the 14th-century fortifications, the view on the Royal Castle and the Cathedral of Saint Waclaw and Stanislaw where the kings of Poland were buried, the Jagiellonian University, churches and many other historic buildings create a unique atmosphere and provide us with many cultural and artistic values. The Greeneries are now a public park having many functions. A historic park is a work of art having tangible and intangible values (rich historic sites, cultural landscape, natural characteristics). It is also a very unique setting for teachers. Since a few years arts and cultural education has been developed in all European countries and the role of the architecture is widely accentuated. Pleasure and satisfaction because of experiencing the art and being in contact with authentic objects or performing the art activities influences personal dimension of a man and reinforces social skills, as well. The historic structure of the park has an impact on processes of education, education through arts and cultural space, experiencing the cultural landscape. The author describes the projects which were conducted in the environment. The projects conduct an idea of stimulating pupils, students and the adults in this setting which is worth being widespread among educationist.
