Modernization of pre-insulated pipe manufacture process / ; Izoliuotų šiluminių vamzdžių gamybos proceso modernizavimas.
The Bachelor Thesis about modernization of the pre-insulated pipe manufacture process is explained in the paper. The aim of the Bachelors Thesis was to adapt and improve the existing machine used to handle steel pipes for a new product line of two steel pipes instead of one in an outer casing in pre-insulated pipe manufacture process by increasing automation in the process. The objectives of the work were concluded from the analysis of flaws in the manufacture process before the modernization and looking deeper into the requests expressed by the clients. Four models were presented and analyzed and one, final model was chosen after throughout analysis of its design and assessment of conditions to ensure successful selling of the project. The analysis of flaws in the manufacture process was done and the new two pipe system and lack of automation were determined to be the biggest hazards. Using the machine before modernization as a point of reference, further analysis were carried and results compared with different models to see which was the most suitable one. First the main parameters like size of the load and tolerances were determined using product catalogues and on site analysis. Using that information the amount of machines required was found, using deflection formulas to determine the size of deflection in steel pipes. The top surface of the machine was designed next that is responsible for holding steel pipes in place. Later bearing and guidelines system that is needed to ensure machines stability and fluent movement was designed following the decision to use pneumatic drives instead of hydraulics to move the machine and finally the strength analysis was carried out using SolidWorks built in analysis program to pick and test the strength of the materials and the designs chosen.
