Practical Labor Productivity Measurement and Its Importance in Construction Projects
Construction productivity is the main issue for researchers and practitioners because of its impact on the performance of construction projects. Effective management of resources can lead to greater productivity which can be helpful for achieving cost and time-saving. Construction is labor focused business and therefore labor is the industry’s supreme strength. It is essential to develop the efficiency of labor productivity in construction projects. Increasing or decreasing of labor productivity of scheme or project has themain concern with the construction industry. The goal of this research project to determine the practical measurement of labor productivity and its importance in the construction industry of Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan after the conclusionof factors disturbing construction labor productivity. Factors affecting labor productivity were analyzed by using (RII) method. Measurement of concern data is done by using fieldwork method. RII method showstwenty-three ranked factors which affect labor productivity. Data has been collected through fieldwork which shows that an increase in skilled labor is a most important factor and also highly affecting labor productivity. It is also observed from the analysis that measurement of labor productivity is supportive to save the project from cost overrun without hampering the quality of work.
