Multifunctionality as a Principle for Urban Green Infrastructure Planning ; Multifunktionalität als Prinzip für die Planung urbaner grüner Infrastruktur
Green infrastructure and ecosystem services gained attention as promising concepts to advance environmental planning in urban areas, but their consideration in research and in planning practice is not well related to each other. This thesis deals with multifunctionality as a linking concept. Theoretical foundations of the three concepts were reviewed and their practical application empirically analysed in case studies. From this, a conceptual and application-oriented knowledge base for a comprehensive consideration of multifunctionality was developed. The thesis thus contributes to the theoretical underpinning of green infrastructure and its operationalisation for planning practice. ; Grüne Infrastruktur und Ökosystemleistungen haben als vielversprechende Ansätze für die Umweltplanung in Städten Beachtung erlangt, aber sie sind unterschiedlich in Forschung und Planungspraxis eingegangen. Diese Doktorarbeit befasst sich mit Multifunktionalität als konzeptionelle Verbindung zwischen beiden Ansätzen. Zum einen wurden die theoretischen Grundlagen beider Ansätze analysiert, zum anderen ihre Anwendung in der Praxis in Fallstudien empirisch untersucht. Daraus wurde eine sowohl konzeptionelle als auch anwendungsorientierte Wissensbasis abgeleitet, um Multifunktionalität umfassend zu betrachten. Die Arbeit trägt zur theoretischen Auseinandersetzung mit der grünen Infrastruktur und ihrer Umsetzung in der Praxis bei.
