NIR spectroscopy coupled with chemometrics for the classification of waste wood and the assessment of the best-suited reuse
International Conference on Near Infrared Spectroscopy (ICNIRS) is the world’s largest scientific forum on NIR Spectroscopy and it is a good opportunity to exchange and discuss new ideas with NIR experts from different countries and learn the latest research achievements from NIR spectroscopy society. The 20th biennial meeting of the International Council for NIR Spectroscopy has been held online and has been organized by the China Council of Near Infrared Spectroscopy. It was a great occasion to present how NIR spectroscopy coupled with chemometrics could be a promising tool for the rapid screening of the waste wood material promoting the Circular Economy and improving the reuse of the material over the landfill. In particular this study has investigated the possibility to develop a classification model for the rapid characterization of the waste wood material and decide in this way the best suited applications.
