The paper examines escapism as one of the approaches to studying virtuality from the perspective of a professional designer. The research examines the problematic nature, relevance and origins of escapism. Paying more attention to the forms of narrative (mental) escapism and their retrospective review, due to immersion, and the ability to create immersive (virtual) worlds in people's imaginations. As a continuation of the phenomenon, it examines how today's virtual technology materializes fantasy worlds in virtual space. Greater attention is paid to the context of today's immersive virtuality - metaverse and what implications the increasing use of virtuality may have for the field of design. After clarifying the fundamental motivations why people choose virtuality, the activity and position of the designer in the virtual space is studied, amateur and professional positions and motivations of virtual creativity are examined. At the end of the study, an attempt is made to describe the creative criteria of the virtual escapist space through related examples. The study is intended for professionals in creative fields who want to get acquainted with the creative context in the virtual space.
