An analysis of housing policy on catering the housing need of youth in Hong Kong : from ethical perspective
Obviously, the housing problem that plagued our young for long time and the concern is keep growing; even our Chief Executive announced his acknowledgement in the latest "Policy Address". However, it seems our youth still being neglected in both the existing housing policy and the proposed latest housing direction and our government have not done enough on catering their housing need. In this study, the social justifications in relation on the setting and consideration of housing policy have been analysis with ethical theories involved. Then, the housing problem of our youth facing has been analysis, and diversified into "Need-based" and "Merit-based" against their perception on the existing housing policy. Thereafter, the new housing direction also been analysis in relation to "Need-based" and "Merit-based", and prediction of the latest perception of our youth has been made under assumption. Finally, the goal of this paper is to interpret the actual housing problems of youth and the collection of their latest perceptions against the latest housing direction via personal interviews. By these study, counter prove can be made whether the new housing direction catering the housing needs of our youth or not; furthermore, comments and suggestion may provide for our government to setup youth housing policy covering both the "Need-based" and "Merit-based" preciously. ; published_or_final_version ; Housing Management ; Master ; Master of Housing Management
