An Experimental Investigation on Influence of Rebar Corrosion Incorporated with Sisal Fibre
Reinforcement corrosion is a key issue that has an impact on the long-term performance of reinforced concrete structures. It has a negative impact on the concrete's durability. structures. Concrete quality, concrete cover thickness reinforcement, reinforcement condition, and environmental effect and other chemicals, concrete porosity, and the influence of high temperatures Stress, as well as freezing and thawing conditions, have an impact on the Concrete constructions are subject to corrosion. It is more crucial to comprehend the behaviour of corroded reinforced concrete in a loaded situation. The impact of rebar corrosion in RCC with sisal fibre at different percentages of 0 percent, 0.5 percent, 1 percent, and 1.5 percent, as well as the degradation of the bond between reinforcing steel and concrete, and the crack profile developed under loading conditions for normal concrete and concrete with sisal fibre of M30 grade, is investigated. An electrochemical accelerated corrosion technique is used to create corrosion in steel rebar in each test specimen. The crack opening width and length were measured after the corrosion process. The goal of this study is to compare the compressive strength of different percentages of fibre reinforced concrete.
