KAMPANYE PEMILAHAN LIMBAH RUMAH TANGGA DI KELURAHAN SUKAMAJU KECAMATAN SAKO PALEMBANG
Garbage is used goods that can cause environmental damage and threaten the sustainability of human ecosystems and other living things. The generation of waste or waste that is not managed will have the potential to become toxic compounds and be harmful to health. On the other hand, if handled properly, waste can provide economic benefits. Waste management is not only the responsibility of the government but also the community. The purpose of this campaign activity is to change the mindset and behavior of the people in Sukamaju Village, Palembang in handling household waste, especially related to the sorting of organic and inorganic waste. Campaign activities are carried out in 4 stages, namely observation, socialization, providing assistance, and monitoring-evaluation. In general, residents of Kelurahan Sukamaju have realized that household waste should be sorted by type. However, the results of the monitoring show that the assistance for the trailer trash can provided by the service team has not been used properly. Therefore, campaign activities should ideally be carried out periodically and continuously accompanied by other efforts in the form of creating a waste bank and training in production skills.
