KAJIAN KONDISI TERUMBU KARANG DAN STRATEGI PENGELOLAANNYA DI SUAKA PESISIR BATANG GASAN, KABUPATEN PADANG PARIAMAN, SUMATERA BARAT
Coral reefs are shallow water ecosystems are often found along the coastline of the small islands and burnts in the district of Padang Pariaman. Damage to coral reefs could reduce the catch of fishermen. The purpose of this study is to assess the condition of coral reefs and develop recommendations coral reef management strategy in the Coastal Reserve Batang Gasan. The method used is a survey method to collect primary and secondary data. The result of research show that coral reef condition is fair with an average percent live coral cover 63.53-74.48%. and suitable for coastal asylum. Based on the SWOT analysis results obtained priority coral reef ecosystem management is the effort to improve the local economy, monitoring the potential of coastal resources in the waters of Trunk Gasan continuously, improving the quality and quantity of community resources, monitoring and evaluation of the condition of coral reef ecosystems integrated and sustainable, to develop alternative livelihoods, the legitimation and regulations for the management of coral reef ecosystems, socializing and community development of coral reef ecosystems, coral reefs and increased surveillance in collaboration with other relevant parties.
