A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Développement urbain intégré et durable // Integrated Development: Infrastructure and Transport Systems
International collaboration is vital to address cross-cutting and common issues. It enables the overcoming of possible territorial differences using a multi and interdisciplinary approach in order to build on solutions based on shared goals and criteria. The document purpose is to recognize the ideal conditions for promoting common policies of balanced development through cooperation among researchers, albeit within specific areas. In the collaborative process and mutual learning the following will therefore be particularly important: - recovery / adjustment of transport systems as elements promoting inclusion, preventing segregation, and organizing the environment; - development plans for rural areas; - models of integrated and sustainable development; - analysis of the regional operational programs; urban policies and convergence and synergies among policies; - territorial planning; - implementation and management patterns for integrated urban strategies. Priority actions are increasingly needed to implement adjustment of existing infrastructure assets and design / rearrangement of urban areas, turning their disorderly urban patterns, even at sub-regional levels, into settlement systems, i.e. integrated and interconnected urban systems linked to the local and regional infrastructure.
