BIM-GIS integration towards Digital Twin: shaping smart for rethinking cities
At the beginning of the 4th Industrial revolution, the advent of digitalization, innovative technologies and materials, and new construction techniques, have begun transforming the way that infrastructure, real estate and other built assets can be planned, designed, constructed and operated in order to create a more attractive, energy effi cient, comfortable, aff ordable, safe and sustainable built environment. Developments in digital design, artifi cial intelligence, robotics, nanotechnology, additive manufacturing, have fi nally started to move the construction industry - traditionally reluctant to innovation and slow in adopting new technologies - towards a new era.
