The final master's thesis examines the advantages and disadvantages of automation of construction companies' processes using BIM technologies, BIM trends and practical examples, the experience of foreign and Lithuanian construction companies in this field. The main principles of BIM in the construction sector are analyzed and the advantages and disadvantages are identified based on research conducted by foreign authors. Information is provided on the first projects implemented in Lithuania in the BIM environment, applied software and benefits. Trends and practical examples of BIM technologies are analyzed. A survey of BIM application practices in construction companies is conducted in Lithuania and the obtained results are compared with the results of a similar survey conducted in a foreign country. After analyzing the theoretical and practical aspects of BIM application, the conclusions of the final work are presented. Structure: introduction, general information modeling in construction sector, first BIM application practice in Lithuania, BIM technology trends in the world, BIM technology survey conducted abroad, BIM technology survey conducted by the author in Lithuania, conclusions, list of literature and other information sources. Thesis consists of: 113 p. text without appendixes, 92 pictures, 7 tables, 65 bibliographical entries.
