A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Structural morphology in architecture (SMIA)
The Structural Morphology in Architecture (SMiA) research group, part of the Innovation and Technology in Architecture Lab at the Valles School of Architecture (ETSAV) at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (UPC), is a team of architects and designers specialising in lightweight, modular and transformable structures. The SMiA research group focuses on the implementation of new design strategies for lightweight structures applied to architecture. Using tools such as parametric design and digital fabrication, the team explores and expands frontiers in transformable architecture. ; Postprint (author's final draft)
