Clean Energy Technology Observatory: Overall Strategic Analysis of Clean Energy Technology in the European Union - 2023 Status Report
Clean Energy Technology Observatory (CETO) provides an evidence-based analysis feeding the policy making process and hence increasing the effectiveness of R&I policies for clean energy technologies and solutions. It monitors EU research and innovation activities on clean energy technologies needed for the delivery of the European Green Deal; and assesses the competitiveness of the EU clean energy sector and its positioning in the global energy market. This overall strategic assessment highlights various aspects of the clean energy technology sector in the EU, including the increase in energy consumption and carbon intensity due to economic recovery, the decrease in greenhouse gas intensity, the growth of the renewable energy sector, the deployment of carbon pricing, the investment in research and innovation, the increase in employment in the renewable energy sector, the challenges in the manufacturing industry, the need for upskilling and digitalization, and the need for improved public data. ; JRC.C.2 - Energy Efficiency and Renewables
