PENGUJIAN KUAT TEKAN BATAKO DENGAN VARIASI PENAMBAHAN SERAT IJUK
Until now, concrete blocks are increasingly known as a substitute for bricks. Various added materials used to improve the quality of the brick are the addition of fiber. One of the development of added material technology is palm fiber. Utilization of fibers because fibers can reduce cracks in the brick. The fibers used are cut 5 cm in length to facilitate processing. This study aims to determine the effect of the fibers on the compressive strength, size of the concrete blocks, and the visual conditions of the brick surface. The method used is an experimental method with a total of 40 test specimens. Each variation consists of 5 samples of compressive strength using a CTM (Compressing Testing Machine) at the age of 28 days. The test object is in the form of concrete blocks in general with dimensions of length 40 cm, height 20 cm, and width of 10 cm. The results of this study are the compressive strength value of the brick with variations in the addition of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% palm fiber as much as 27.45 kg / cm2; 30.55 kg / cm2; 33.33 kg / cm2; and 39.35 kg / cm2 which meet the criteria for solid concrete brick IV, it means that the greater the addition of fibers the greater the compressive strength. The test results on the size of the brickwork for all the mix composition of the brickwork show a small difference in size deviations that still meet the requirements of PUBI 1982 and SNI 03-0349-1989. The visual test shows that the concrete blocks with a mixture of palm fiber for the entire composition still meet the requirements of the external views of SNI 03-0349-1989
