Increasing the amount of waste that is not balanced by environmentally friendly management will cause environmental damage and pollution (Kustiah, 2005: 1). Currently, almost all waste management ends at the landfill, causing the burden of the landfill to be very heavy, in addition to the need for extensive land, also requires very expensive environmental protection facilities. The increasing amount of waste dumped into the landfill is partly due to the fact that efforts have not been made to seriously reduce the volume of waste from the source (Tuti Kustiah: 2005: 3). The strategic effort made by the government in overcoming the problem of waste is to encourage community participation in waste management by reducing waste at the source (households). This household waste management activity involves housewives as the target of this program. The activity was carried out in Kesek village, Labang Bangkalan District. Housewives have a key role in waste management because they are daily handling waste from households to processing. The objectives of this activity were (1) Providing knowledge and understanding regarding the importance of managing household waste starting from the source (2) Providing insight into the adverse effects of waste that are not handled properly (3) Providing knowledge and understanding of the impact of damage that occurs from littering behavior (4) Provide knowledge and understanding of waste management solutions commonly known as 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
