The thesis analyzes causes of the concrete balconies structural defects and their renewal options. The work consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations. The first chapter analyzes defects of concrete structures, their causes and disposal options on the basis of survey of scientific literature. The second chapter analyzes building history of concrete balconies and their types. Based on inspection of Vilnius balconies, the problem that Vilnius balconies are in a state of emergency is justified. The obstacles, restricting upgrading process of balconies, are analyzed. The integrated approach is proposed to find the most efficient balconies upgrading solution. The third section contains information on multiple criteria decision-making methods used in the construction field. Possible alternatives for renovation of balconies and a list of performance assessment indicators are prepared. Expert survey is carried out. Calculations are made using multiple criteria decision making methods and analysis of the results is performed. The best alternative for upgrading Vilnius balconies is selected and proposals to speed up the upgrading process are presented. The volume of the work is 75 p. text without appendixes, 45 illustrations, 23 tables, 54 references and 5 appendixes.
