A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
ANALISIS PENGELOLAAN TEPIAN SUNGAI MAHAKAM STUDI KASUS MAHAKAM LAMPION GARDEN DI KOTA SAMARINDA
Riverbanks play an important role in supporting the ecosystem, urban aesthetics, and the socio-economic life of the surrounding community. This study aims to analyze the management of the Mahakam Riverbanks with a case study of Mahakam Lampion Garden in Samarinda City. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach to explore how Mahakam Lampion Garden is managed and its impact on the environment and the local community. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with management officials, field observations, and related document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the management of Mahakam Lampion Garden has made a positive contribution to improving environmental quality, urban aesthetics, and community welfare. This area has become one of the leading tourist destinations that attract many visitors, which in turn has a significant economic impact on the local residents. However, this study also found several challenges that need to be addressed, such as cleanliness issues, maintenance of public facilities, and suboptimal waste management. Recommendations from this study include increasing community awareness and participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness, as well as developing more sustainable management policies.
